We often receive questions regarding support for our ministry, especially if people have not supported missions or missionaries before.  Hopefully the FAQ below will answer your questions.  If not, feel free to contact us!

Partnership Building FAQ's

1.  Why do you need financial support?
TIME Ministries missionaries are faith based.  This means that we do not earn a salary but instead depend on prayer and donated financial support to meet our needs and the needs of the ministry.

2.  Who provides financial support?
Churches and individuals provide financial support. God has laid out His plan through the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) that all of us can take part in what He has called us to do.

3.  Doesn't your home church provide all your support?
No.  In fact, we do not wish that to be the case.  We hope to include as many people as possible on our team, including those who do not or cannot attend our home church.  This gives others a chance to share in God's work in the ministry and also allows more people praying for us.  Deep personal relationships between us and our supporters promotes a long time interest in both giving and intercession within the ministry.

4.  What kind of needs do you have?
We have prayer, monthly and one-time needs.

Prayer support-first and foremost are prayer needs.  Nothing beats the power of prayer, and it is free!  It also connects one with the Lord.  We can pray wherever we are and we see the results of "fervent and effectual prayer" on the field.  (Matthew 18:20)

Monthly financial support-these are expenses similar to those we would have if living in the States.
  • Housing-much as we would pay rent or a mortgage in the States.
  • Medical/life insurance-we are responsible for our own medical and life insurance and must pay for the premiums and deductible.
  • FICA-according to the IRS, we are "independent contractors" and as a result must keep track of and pay taxes.
  • Personal-food, fuel, home supplies, bills, recreation
  • Administration fee-we pay a fee to TIME Ministries to manage our accounts.
  • Retirement-we must set up and contribute to our own retirement account.
  • Ministry expenses-travel to and from the field, printing, office supplies.
Special Projects-these are funds that help us with expenses outside of our monthly need.
  • Residency
  • Two months salary reserve
  • Medical deductible
  • Ministry supplies and travel
5.  How can I join the team?
Prayer team-just send us an email and we'll make sure you get on our list.  Of course, you can pray anytime you like!

Financial team-go to http://www.timeministries.org/ online and select "Ways to Give".  Or call TIME  Ministries at 1-888-584-3074 and ask for Linda.

6.  Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, your financial support is tax deductible provided it is given through TIME Ministries.  You will receive the appropritate forms for your donations at the end of the calendar year.

7.  Can I come to the DR?
This is a great way of being part of the team!  You may come as an individual or as part of a team.  Please contact us if the Lord is leading you to participate in His work in the Dominican Republic!

8.  Can I support in other ways?
We do have other needs from time to time. Storage, car use, housing while stateside are some examples of support needs.  Please contact us if you have ideas of how you'd like to partner in some other way.

9.  Can you speak at our church/small group?
Certainly!  We would love to share with you what the Lord is doing in the Dominican Republic.  We can meet over phone or Skype while we're out of the country and would love to visit you in person if possible when we're stateside.  Please contact us!
